The St. Patrick's Day Mass and Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner was well attended on March 17th, 2009.
The festive day began with an 11 AM Mass, concelebrated by Fr. James Brinkman, Fr. Leonard Fraher and Fr. James Dabruzzi.
The Erin Prairie folk group and choir provided the music ministry and really set the tone for the day.
We named 3 "Honorary Leprechauns": Fr. Leonard Fraher, Alice Casey and Jan Ascheman. These 3
people have been very important to our parish and the surrounding communities over the years and we were honored to have them
as part of our celebation.
Following Mass, a Corned Beef and Cabbage dinner was served, sponsored by the Women of St. Patrick's Group.
Champagne was donated by Jan and Al Ascheman, of Willow River Electric.
Many Irish stories were told and remembering of those ancestors who made sure, that in coming to their new home all those
years ago, that they and their children's, children had a place to celebrate their faith and fellowship.
Also, a huge thank you to Hurtgen Catering for the wonderful dinner they catered to us.
May the road rise up to greet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
And the rains fall soft upon your fields,
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hands.
